Magnus Wiberg is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Computational Economics at Clover University. He is an Associate Professor in Economics (2019, Stockholm University), Ph.D. in Economics (2006, Stockholm University), M.Sc. in Finance (2001, Stockholm University).
Magnus currently works at the financial institution, USAA, in San Antonio, Texas, as a Lead Quantitative Analyst at the Chief Financial Office, where he produces the U.S. macroeconomic and financial market outlook, including macro scenarios, and advances ad-hoc research and model development projects. Magnus joined USAA in June 2018 as a Senior Quantitative Risk Analyst at Model Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Analytics.
He has worked as an Adjunct Associate Professor in Economics at Hunter College in New York City, where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, international finance, and monetary policy.
Before joining USAA and Hunter College, he worked for 10 years as a macroeconomic forecaster and analyst at the Central Bank of Sweden, the Swedish Ministry of Finance, and the Swedish National Institute of Economic Research which is a government agency operating under the Swedish Ministry of Finance.
Magnus has been a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Economics at Harvard University, and held a teaching and research position at the Department of Economics at Stockholm University.
His research - primarily on economic geography, trade policy, monetary policy, and taxation - has been published in academic journals, in policy reports, and in newspapers.
